a week to work and dream

We have a week to do what we want/need to do to Doris starting tomorrow. I shall be making curtains and cushion covers, cleaning the inside, painting the inside and adding some homely touches while the man does the outside: brushing off rust from underneath and painting with Hammerite, spray painting the brown bits sage green, and whatever other man jobs I decide ;)

Whoop whoop happy days

Doris passed!!! She needs some work underneath which we knew - to say she is rusty would be an understatement, so she needs brushing down and attacking with the trusty hammerite, she needed one new tyre and new back lights. She does have damp but we knew that - I'm sure him indoors can fix it but we're not hugely concerned at the moment.
I went to Ikea yesterday with the boy to look at material but the ones I liked were out of stock. However we did buy lots of nice things for home, including some fabric vegetables!
Hoping the fabric comes back in stock soon or I'll have to get back on eBay... trouble is I haven't seen anything as nice. And the Cath Kidston catalogue has landed through my door, that could get me in a whole HEAP of trouble.....

Oh and I forgot

I may have a new job, 3 days a week from sometime September but working remotely so creativity doesn't need to be stifled, yay! Yet to finalise details but it's potentially very exciting... watch this space (if there are any of you watching that is; suspect not) ;)

Doris goes in for her health check up on Friday and we are quite scared that we might get bad news. Fact is she didn't tow brilliantly so there *is* a problem of some sort but it depends what...
Trying not to think about it too much as it could be hopes dashed so I am looking at fabrics instead. Am thinking this for the curtains... Ikea £3.99 a metre. We were going to replace the foam cushions but are going to have a go at shampooing and jetwashing them instead. Then hopefully I'll just recover them and they'll be clean and gorgeous. Fingers crossed on all fronts.
